Planning is key to enjoying the best the park has to offer.
California is a great place to vacation any time of year, and a trip to Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park is perfect for the whole family.
Ride in style
Knott’s Berry Farm is home to 40 rides. The family rides offer both the thrill-seekers and the less-than-adventurous members of your family lots of options. The Calico Mine Ride will take you and your family on an adventure through the tunnels of a working mine. Along the winding tunnels are lakes, waterfalls, geysers, and even animatronic miners digging for their next big brick of gold.
The High Sierra Ferris Wheel will take your family to new heights of fun, and incredible views of Camp Snoopy, home to Snoopy and the whole Peanuts Gang. The best rides will depend on how old your kids are, but with 27 out of the 40 rides being kid-friendly, you’ll have plenty to choose from.
Catch a show
When taking a break between rides, Knott’s Berry Farm offers plenty of other attractions. They have theatre shows, comedy sets, musicals, and live bands. Space Beagle allows you and your family to watch Snoopy become the first-ever dog on the moon and The Krazy Kirk & The Hillbillies show combines comedy and music during “their toe-tappin’, knee-slappin’, side-splittin’ country,” show.
For the older kids and adults, the Wild West Stunt Show is a not-to-be-missed attraction. The old west comes to California where gunfights and stunt performers give the audience a Wild West experience, just like in the ol’ days.
Indulge in a one-of-a-kind experience
After the rides and shows, there are plenty of other ways to spend your day at Knott’s Berry Farm. Their Pan for Gold experience takes you and your family on a trip back in time to the Gold Rush era, where a Gold Prospector will teach you how to dig for your fortune.
In Ghost Town, the master blacksmith forges metal to produce horseshoes, tools, and branding irons. Watch the blacksmith work their magic on all things metal, and purchase a handmade piece as a vacation memento.
Excite your tastebuds with different cuisine
When the rides and shows have taken a little out of you, you can refuel at one of the many spots to eat in the park. Calico Fry Company offers gourmet creations including Cowboy Fries, a box of fries topped with Carne Asada, shredded cheddar cheese, fresh guacamole, and sour cream. With all the food headlined by Chef Bobby Obezo, Knott’s Berry Farm takes amusement park food and kicks it up a notch.
“His culinary creations and team orientated workplace coupled with deep passion for food, has created new and different foods which have attracted people from around the world to taste and enjoy.”
If BBQ is up your alley, then Boardwalk BBQ is for you. They offer rotisserie chicken, ribs, sausage and a choice of all the sides you could want. For your sweet tooth, Farm Bakery or Log Ride Funnel Cake will fix that right up. For those with food sensitivities, Knott’s Berry Farm offers multiple gluten-free, vegan, dairy-free and nut-free options.
Coordinate your visit with a special event
There are plenty of special events going on at Knott’s Berry Farm all year. If you want to experience a specific event, head to the amusement park in season. They offer special events for Halloween and Christmas and even have a special kick-off event at the beginning of every year.
The “Seasons of Fun kick-off” event starts with a Peanuts celebration and continues all year long with various events and special attractions.
Just like most amusement parks, wait times can be long. Get to the park early for quicker entry. The earlier you arrive, the better the experience will be.
